Youth Water Gathering

The ʔaq̓am Youth Water Gathering will bring together Indigenous youth from ʔamakʔis Ktunaxa for 2 days of paddling and camping along the shores of the St. Mary's River. The gathering will provide youth, ages 15-20 with the skills to better understand, protect and steward the rivers near ʔaq̓am in a changing planet. Through art, traditional language, storytelling, and hands-on knowledge sharing, elders, youth and mentors will come together to celebrate, and honour the gift of water in Ktunaxa ʔamakʔis. Limited seats open to Ktunaxa youth ages 15-20. Registration and signed waivers are required.

Meet 12:00-2:00pm July 13th for planning and packing.
