ʔAQ̓AM REGULATIONS FOR HUNTERS
For Management Units 4-1 to 4-8 and 4-20 to 4-25, there are the following new regulations to help prevent the spread of Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD):
a) CWD Testing: mandatory submission of deer, elk, and moose heads for CWD testing. Testing locations in Cranbrook are:
- BC Wildlife Office (at the back door), 205 Industrial Road G, Cranbrook
- Rick’s Fine Meat and Sausage, 1450 B Theatre Road, Cranbrook. Contact Rick or Corinne at 250-426-7770 because drop-off is by appointment only.

b )Carcass Transport Restrictions: A person who kills a deer, elk, or moose must not ship or transport, or engage another person to ship or transport, outside of those management units, the brain tissue or the spinal column, including the vertebrae and central nervous system tissue but not including the tail.
