Wildlife Monitoring

kiʔsuʔk kyukyit,

Lands staff and the 2/3 and 4/5 ʔaq̓amnik̓ classes have teamed up to do some wildlife monitoring at Francis Lake and Unnamed Wetland. There will be a wildlife camera set up at each wetland and they will set these cameras up on May 10th. There will be signs to indicate there are wildlife cameras onsite. These cameras will be used to see what wildlife are using the wetlands pre-wetland restoration to compare to what wildlife return post-wetland restoration.

Notice of Vote and Public Voters List

Two Votes will be held on May 28th, 2024, to determine if the Voters of ʔaq̓am approve and assent to ʔaq̓am's proposed Membership Law (2024), and to determine by referendum the per capita distribution percentage for the Timber Specific Claim.

The Votes will take place on:
Tuesday, May 28th, 2024, from 8:00am to 8:00pm at 7470 Mission Road, Cranbrook, BC, in the Boardroom.

Ktunaxa Forest Summit

On April 23rd between 2-4:30pm, the Ktunaxa Forest Summit will be taking a tour of the prescribed burn and wildfire areas. There will be roughly 50 people onsite.

BC Hydro in Community April 18 / 19, 2024

Kiʔsuʔk kyukyit,

BC Hydro will be onsite April 18th/19th to replace a cross arm on one of the structures near Long Prairie.
