Matrimonial Real Property Law Enacted

On June 30th, 2015 Membership voted in favour of enacting the ʔaq̓am Matrimonial Real Property Law. 

67 Members voted, with 44 "Yes" ballots and 23 "NO" ballots. The Law took effect the same day as it was approved by Membership. 

The Final Law is attached here for reference as well as the Certification by our Voting Officer. A copy of the Law is also available at the adminstration office. 

Thank you to all members who participated in the development of the Law and cast their vote. 

NOTICE OF VOTE- ʔaq̓am Matrimonial Real Property Law

Our Final Draft of the ʔaq̓am Matrimonial Real Property Law is complete and is being referred to ʔaq̓am Eligible Voters for approval on June 30th, 2015.

The question being posed to each ʔaq̓amnik eligible voter is:

Are you in favour of enacting the ʔaq̓am Matrimonial Real Property Law, 2015?

Three methods of voting are available to all ʔaq̓amnik eligible voters. Voting packages have been mailed to each eligible voter.

Draft Matrimonial Real Property Law

Our Draft Matrimonial Real Property Law is now available and ready for comment.

Please submit all of your comments in writing to Julie Couse by May 27th, 2015 (form attached).

Land Use Planning- Online Interactive Mapping Tool Launched!

Developing our Land Use Plan is instrumental in providing ʔaq̓am with guidance to regulate on-reserve land under Land Code, while planning for community needs and sustainable resource use. 

In an effort to create many avenues for Community to participate and share their knowledge/input, ʔaq̓am has launched the online interactive mapping tool as part of a suite of community engagement tools.
