Decomposing elk at the Riverside area

There is a decomposing elk at the Riverside area. ʔaq̓am staff and Lands Committee members (thank you, Terry and Max!) believe the animal has been there over the winter and is so decomposed that trying to pull it out will result in a bigger problem. We believe the elk will likely be picked up by the river in the next few weeks. Until then, we ask all ʔaq̓amnik̓ using the Riverside area to be aware of the situation as it may attract animals, release bacteria, and, with the warming weather, start smelling.
