VAST Resources is granted access to ʔaq̓am lands forming Kootenay IR 1 for the purposes of Environmental Assessment for the Lot 31 watermain Extension proposal, Friday May 17th.
kiʔsuʔk kyukyit, Starting on May 15th until July 31st, Nupqu Resources Limited Partnership will be onsite doing Archeology Impact Assessments at Stink Lake, Unnamed Wetland, Airport Wetland, Francis Lake, Long Lake, and Twin Lakes.
Lands staff and the 2/3 and 4/5 ʔaq̓amnik̓ classes have teamed up to do some wildlife monitoring at Francis Lake and Unnamed Wetland. There will be a wildlife camera set up at each wetland and they will set these cameras up on May 10th. There will be signs to indicate there are wildlife cameras onsite. These cameras will be used to see what wildlife are using the wetlands pre-wetland restoration to compare to what wildlife return post-wetland restoration.
